Please accept this updated News Update with the correct links to the the Charles D Strang story. This year, like last has had its ups and downs for many of us. Whilst business in our sector is 'booming', other factors have made our lives at times somewhat challenging. A possible resurgence of C19 through the Omicron variant, border insecurities and supply chain issues will mean that our return to normal is still some time away. That said, our resilience and industry smarts are to be admired, so with some patience and tolerance, the recreational marine industry will nurture this Covid boom into benefits for our industry for many years. Marine Business News, whose origins date back to 1989 only re-launched 9 weeks ago. 2021 allowed our team to repackage the product as a digital offering and the many many months of planning have paid off. StrangIn this, the first part of our series, we’re going to look at probably the greatest “outboard man” of all, who was also the true creator of the sterndrive to boot. This man was a comrade, a colleague, a contemporary, a co-conspirator and eventually a competitor of the legendary Carl Kiekhaefer of Mercury. |
