Dear TeamChild Community,

Next in our top 10, TeamChild’s relationships in Yakima were a major highlight of 2025. 

In 2025, we invested in partnerships in Yakima, particularly those that assist vulnerable families - such as the farmworker community in Yakima Valley. Through our collaboration with ELLA, we provided education-rights training directly to families and engaged with youth at Rod’s House to gain deeper insights into the local challenges they encounter. Additionally, we were honored to work alongside ESD 105 to support Color of Justice at Yakima Superior Court, where TeamChild attorneys mentored youth through a mock trial and discussed career pathways in the legal field.

Youth in Yakima continue to struggle with significant resource shortages, including limited access to legal representation and high rates of juvenile detention and school exclusion.  Ongoing advocacy focused in this community is vital.
