Did you know a real person may have inspired the animated movie Shrek? Meet Maurice Tillet—the man known as the ‘French angel’. Doctors diagnosed Tillet with acromegaly, which is a disorder that causes increased bone growth. People theorised he inspired the movie due to his striking similarity with the kind-hearted character.
