Issue 816 Thursday, 1 August 2024
This week, we revealed the full programs for two major homegrown events, set to delight visitors across Western Australia this Kambarang (the Noongar season of birth, which runs from October-November).
On Tuesday, Pair’d Margaret River Region unveiled its inaugural event program, which promises a bountiful line-up showcasing the best of the Margaret River Region’s wines, food, chefs and venues. Spanning four days from 14-17 November, the festival will include a range of events catering to varying budgets, with highlights including a beachside long-table lunch and a four-course premium dining experience under a towering canopy of Karri trees.
The full event program for EverNow: A Festival During Kambarang also went live this week and includes an Australian-exclusive show ‘From the Light Flow: Bena Koorliny’, a spectacular collaboration between Noongar artists and world-renowned performance company Groupe F, along with the return of the popular Song Circle and Boorna Waanginy: The Trees Speak.
Pair’d Margaret River Region and EverNow are important additions to WA’s ever-expanding repertoire of homegrown events, which aim to offer an ‘always-on’ calendar to appeal to visitors year-round, and to celebrate all that is unique about Western Australia’s heritage, culture and community. Beyond events, this week the agency brought WA to the world through a 400-strong agent/buyers showcase in Malaysia and Singapore - our largest trade mission ever. The event was held across Kuala Lumpur, Ipoh, Penang, and Singapore and included a consortium of 27 WA operators who did an incredible job representing WA the Dream State, conducting 4,500 business appointments. Singapore and Malaysia boast the second and fifth-highest international market visitation to Western Australia, with 92,000 Singaporean and 48,000 Malaysian visitors in YE March 2024, and the Roadshow was a valuable opportunity to inspire these priority WA markets.
Warm regards,
