In conjunction with OSHA’s National Safety Stand-Down week, which spanned May 6-10, the ASA-HC Safety Committee encouraged members to carry out safety stand-downs on their jobsites and in their offices. We are excited to announce that 9,799 individuals from 33 ASA-HC member companies reported participating in safety stand-downs across the city this year! What is a safety stand-down? It’s a voluntary event which allows employers to talk directly to employees about fall hazards, and to reinforce the importance of fall prevention. These efforts are all part of OSHA’s goal to raise awareness of — and prevent — fall hazards in construction.

Safety Stand-Downs by ASA-HC Members
During OSHA's National Safety Stand-Down week, which took place May 6-10, 9,799 individuals from 33 ASA-HC member companies participated in safety stand-downs!
The Texas Construction Association (TCA) is the legislative arm of Texas’ ASA chapters, as well as 15 other statewide Texas specialty trade associations. All Texas ASA members are members of TCA. In partnership with TCA, Texas ASA chapters ensure their members are up to date on all activity that could affect the construction industry and, specifically, subcontractors. Through TCA, ASA chapters in Texas work to get legislation passed to help subcontractors and watch for legislation that could be harmful to either subcontractors or the construction industry as a whole.
