Pacific roundtable

On 13 May the Office of the Pacific hosted an AP4D work-in-progress roundtable attended by more than 50 people. Held under the Chatham House Rule, the roundtable was an opportunity for working groups to get high-level feedback on their draft options papers from officials from Foreign Affairs and Trade, Prime Minister and Cabinet, Home Affairs and Australian Federal Police. AP4D thanks the government representatives for their valuable time during a busy period.

The working groups process will culminate in the launch of the options papers in late-June at the AP4D Pacific Islands Symposium. Stay tuned for details.

Our program

In late April, Griffith Asia Institute held two Pacific Voices Consultations as part of AP4D's Pacific options papers process. The sessions drew on the expertise and experience of Pacific Islands people to get their views on key issues facing Australia and Pacific Islands countries and how they can shape a shared future together. Excerpts and quotes from these consultations will be included in the options papers, ensuring that regional perspectives are being heard.

AP4D thanks Dr Tess Newton Cain and the consultation participants for their valuable input.
