In some very exciting news for Perth/Boorloo, this week we were delighted to announce that the 68th US Secretary of State John Kerry has been announced as the headline speaker for the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) Global Summit. John Kerry served as US Secretary of State in the administration of President Barack Obama and was also the inaugural Special Presidential Envoy for Climate under President Joe Biden. This Australia-first event will elevate WA on a global stage, and I look forward to showcasing our state's best tourism experiences and discussing the emerging opportunities within our sector with tourism and trade global leaders in
October. We are also thrilled to open expressions of interest for our 2025 Trade Ready Introduction Program (TRIP). This program was established to assist West Australian tourism operators become trade-ready and expand their offerings into interstate and international markets. As part of the ongoing program, operators are provided three years of stepped financial assistance to attend in-market trade events, and support in establishing relationships with buyers. In its inaugural year, TRIP onboarded 10 West Australian operators, helping them develop their network and connections to advance their business with hands-on support. We are looking forward to
seeing which experienced and talented operators apply for the opportunity to join the 2025 cohort. Today it was announced that WA has secured the 2025 Australian Cruise Association Conference. We will host the event in Fremantle next September with cruise industry leaders to discuss the capability and potential of cruise tourism in Australia. Looking ahead, the next Tourism WA Industry Update is fast approaching, taking place on Tuesday, 17 September at Optus Stadium. This is a fantastic opportunity to hear from the Deputy Premier and Tourism Minister, the Hon. Rita Saffioti MLA, along with a panel of representatives who will share information on current key
projects and Tourism WA marketing campaign activity. Warm regards,
