NEWS UPDATE

11 September 2026

Publishers note

The six-day Cannes Yachting Festival is currently underway, closing on 13 September, and with it has come a raft of product stories highlighting what can be seen at the show.

Less than an hour away by car, the Monaco Yacht Show begins on the 23rd. For those looking for an alternative, Southampton kicks off on the 18th, La Rochelle on the 22nd, and Interboot in Germany also starts on the 23rd, just to name a few. Please check our Marine Business News Events Calendar for the full line-up.

Not surprisingly, there has been no shortage of boat show stories coming through. While many of us won’t be anywhere near these events - although some will - it is always interesting to read about the products being prepared for launch. Many of these will, in time, be offered to discerning Australian buyers.

Locally, for those of you with a little curiosity, I do encourage you to have a look at the Discover Maritime Futures conference taking place next Friday. It is only half a day long, with the bonus that it is being run alongside the “Everything Electric Sydney” show.

Discover Maritime Futures promises to be both interesting and informative, while Everything Electric Sydney explores the world of home energy and electric vehicles, offering an opportunity to discover technologies and ideas that are becoming increasingly relevant across many industries, including our own.

I am certainly interested and will be there.

We do hope you enjoy this week’s Marine Business News.
