This newsletter issue provides highlights on how PAHO/WHO Collaborating Centres (CCs) are supporting PAHO/WHO on mental health. In this issue, we shine a spotlight on the invaluable contributions of CCs towards bolstering mental health initiatives globally, with a special mention of World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2023.

In a time when mental health is progressively climbing the global agenda, PAHO CCs diligently augments PAHO/WHO's endeavors to navigate the nuanced challenges of mental health. This edition creates a space for discussing, exploring, and celebrating the different ways in which CCs underpin and amplify PAHO/WHO commitments and actions in the mental health domain, weaving tales of impact, innovative approaches, and steadfast commitment to addressing mental health disparities and fostering a world where mental well-being is accessible to all.

PAHO/WHO CC for Education and Service Development for People with Epilepsy

ACTIVIDAD: El CC ha contribuido con el desarrollo de capacidades del personal de OPS/OMS para la generación de contenidos en plataformas virtuales (redes sociales). Se destaca el curso regional de comunicación en salud y producción comunicativa digital con enfoques de género e interculturalidad, dirigido a comunicadores de estas organizaciones, y que contó con la asesoría de la Unidad de Equidad, Género y Diversidad Cultural de la sede. 

IMPACTO: La iniciativa virtual tuvo un alcance regional que seguirá fortaleciendo el desarrollo de capacidades del personal de OPS/OMS en competencias para narrativas hipermedias, con énfasis en los gestores de nuestra cooperación técnica.
