Down Syndrome Innovations offers services and supports at every age and stage to help your teen grow and thrive. This monthly newsletter is created for you and your family! Register for our Winter Teen Skills Groups! Skill-Building Series focusing on Cooking and Kitchen Skills. Our Winter Programming begins next week! We are offering two sessions: a 5:00 to 6:00 pm or a 6:15 to 7:15pm. These groups will offer a variety of activities, all with an overarching emphasis on developing in-person social skills and spending time with peers of the same age. Please note: out of caution, each in-person group session will be capped at 15 teens. If your desired session is full, you will be added to a waitlist and contacted in the event of an opening. NOTE: due to the generous support of our donors, these events are complimentary/free for our families Be Sure to Sign Up for our Virtual Teen Social Groups! (Online) Hosted on Wednesdays from 5:15 - 6 pm, this weekly virtual social group will be a supervised Zoom meeting when teens have the opportunity to interact and get to know their peers, as well as take breaks with songs and games. *Zoom links will be sent to all registered email addresses the morning of each scheduled virtual social group. NOTE: due to the generous support of our donors, these events are complimentary/free for our families Our Pathways Therapeutic Services focus on equipping families of teens with practical strategies and purposeful activities today, which prepare them for a meaningful, productive, and authentic adult life in the future! The Pathways team includes an occupational therapist (OT), a speech-language pathologist (SLP), and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). We utilize evidence-based, best practice provided by therapists with advanced knowledge in Down syndrome. Down Syndrome Innovations is thrilled to welcome Savannah Yantzi to our Team as Data and Billing Specialist! Savannah has four years of experience in a pharmacy setting as a Senior Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). She is nationally certified as a pharmacy technician in data entry and managing reports. “After volunteering at Down Syndrome Innovation’s Grand Opening and 5k and learning about the mission from the team, I quickly noticed how it aligned with my personal values,” explains Savannah. “I have always been passionate about helping others reach their maximum potential!” “I enjoy coming to work each day knowing that I am helping make a difference in the lives of the people and families we serve,” Savannah shares. “I am excited to share my knowledge and help our organization continue to be on the forefront of changing lives!” Savannah Yantzi Outside of work, Savannah enjoys traveling and spending quality time with her husband, Dustin, and their three children. She also enjoys DIY projects, cooking and baking.
