Dear Friend,
One of the most exciting developments in the New Longevity movement is hearing the stories of individuals over 50 who are reimagining and reinventing their lives, creating role models for everyone.
The latest Forbes 50 Over 50 list is out, showcasing women who thrive and lead in their fields, proving we can all contribute uniquely in the second half of our lives. You can read more about their inspiring journeys here.
Another inspiring figure is designer Giorgio Armani, who turned 90 this summer. As the driving force behind his namesake brand (and its chairman and CEO), his company has posted one of the best growth years in its 50-year history!
No matter where we look, we continue to see individuals who are breaking the age glass ceiling. In the world of sports, this year’s summer Olympics featured 58-year-old Laura Kraut, who became the oldest US medalist in 72 years, and 65-year-old Juan Antonio Jimenez, the oldest equestrian competitor ever.
Whether it is business, sports, entertainment (note that Dick Van Dyke won a Daytime Emmy at 98 and Carol Burnett was just nominated for an Emmy at 91!), or any other walk of life, we can excel at any age. Speaking of 90-somethings, I just had a great visit with my 91-year-and-7-month-old dad, who continues to inspire all of us with his engagement with the world around him. |
