Every now and then, your mind wanders fondly back to student days at Portsmouth. To the amazing people you met, the friendships you formed, the fire that was lit in your belly and that would - or will - serve you in the years to come.

Whether it was five or fifty years ago, chances are the memories warm your heart and make you wonder ‘whatever happened to…?’ or better yet, spark an urge to reach out to an old friend you’ve not heard from in a while.

This year, your University marks the 30th anniversary of its University Charter. A pivotal point in a proud history spanning 150 years. Years of learning, of lives touched, careers launched and loves kindled.

In September, alumni from around the world will be welcomed back to Portsmouth to celebrate this important milestone and to connect again with classmates, lecturers, old haunts and the community that means so much to so many.

10 September is the big day. Read on for how to get involved and for the wonderful stories of grads who have already decided to do just that.

Together we’ll make this the biggest and best Portsmouth party ever!

Alumni memories

The great songwriter Bob Dylan once said ‘Take care of your memories. For you cannot relive them.’ Just this once, Bob might be wrong.
Portsmouth invites you to relive life-changing experiences and wonderful memories at September’s inaugural Alumni Weekend. In the meantime, graduates from across the decades share their own precious memories of their time here - stories close to their hearts.
Share your stories on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Instagram - just use the hashtag #UoPMemories!
