Dear Duquesne University Community,
I write today on behalf of Duquesne’s Provost Search Committee to share some updates on our progress in identifying the University’s next provost.
Last month, President Gormley wrote the Duquesne community with an update that we’ve convened a search committee of 14 University leaders and contracted DSG Storbeck and Julie Tea to assist us in selecting our next provost. Our goal is to have a new provost in place by July 1, 2026, when I will officially take office as Duquesne’s next president.
Over the past few weeks, the DSG Storbeck team has conducted listening sessions with members of the Duquesne community to learn more about the challenges and opportunities facing the next provost, as well as the skill sets and personal attributes we see as most important for our next provost to possess. I’m deeply thankful to those of you who participated in those listening sessions—your input has been invaluable in developing the leadership profile we will use to identify strong candidates.
The search committee and our partners at DSG Storbeck have now begun the process of identifying prospective candidates who align with the criteria outlined in the leadership profile. We will review applications throughout February, with an anticipated deadline in mid- to late February 2026. We plan to begin preliminary interviews with candidates shortly thereafter. If you would like to nominate someone for the role or inquire about it yourself, please contact: DuquesneProvost@dsgco.com. All inquiries are strictly confidential.
As the search progresses, I will continue to share updates with you via email. Thank you for your continued engagement and support as we work together to select a provost who will help lead Duquesne into its next chapter.
Kind regards,
David
David J. Dausey
