Safety Leadership Series: Safety Leadership Amidst Generational Gaps
Don’t forget to reserve your seat for the August 3rd Safety Leadership Series. During this program, our speakers will explore strengths and weaknesses of the various generations on jobsites, provide communication techniques that are effective under various circumstances, and learn about one’s own communication style and how to best leverage it to communicate better. 16th Annual ASA Fiesta on the Beach
As a special ASA Member & GC Partner perk, the chapter will once again be hosting a hospitality tent at the world-famous AIA Sandcastle Competition in Galveston, Texas! Grab your family and friends for a great time at the beach watching some amazing structures build from sand while you cool off in our amenity filled hospitality tent. Enjoy cool refreshments, great food, and ASA friends and peers! This event draws the top architect and general contractors who team up to show off their engineering and building skills, competing for top honor. She Builds It Industry Event
Join the ASA-Houston Chapter She Builds It Peer Group, the ABC Greater Houston LOGIC Committee, the AGC Women In Construction group, and NAWIC for an industry happy hour and mixer! On Thursday, September 28th, members from these organizations will unite for an afternoon of indoor batting practice, great food, beverages, and of course lots of networking. ASA Family Saddened By Loss of Craig Kramer
The ASA family is saddened to learn about the loss of one of our beloved members and servant leaders, Craig Kramer. Craig was a long-time supporter of ASA, serving two terms as ASA Houston President (1991, 2005) and was a tireless volunteer and mentor to fellow members. As an employee of Astro Fence Company, he was a fixture at ASA events and always had a welcoming smile and warm embrace for those he encountered. Craig was an avid University of Houston supporter, and enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, and BBQing. He will be very much missed by his family, his peers, and by the countless people he touched in the industry. His kindness and leadership will form a legacy that many of us will never forget. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

For more than 40 years, ASA has improved business conditions for subcontractors and suppliers through advocacy work. ASA serves as the voice of Texas subcontractors. In alliance with Texas Construction Association (TCA), ASA chapters ensure member are up-to-date on all activity that could affect the construction industry and, specifically, subcontractors. Through TCA, ASA chapters in Texas work to get legislation passed to help subcontractors and watch for legislation that could be harmful to either subcontractors or the construction industry as a whole.
