MARINE BUSINESS NEWS

NEWS UPDATE

01 November 2024

Publishers note

I’m not going to lie; I was expecting a big response last week from the news that BRP had placed some iconic Australian brands on the market. What I wasn’t expecting was the volume of interest the story received.

As mentioned last week, Marine Business News recently celebrated its third anniversary of its re-launch. In that time, we have proudly delivered over 3,800 stories to the various market segments within boating and other associated marine sectors. The BRP story was our most-read and most re-read story since we launched.

This is ironic, given the challenges we at times face in getting information from some organisations within our industry. That said, the message here is that Australian (and many international) readers are very interested to know about what is happening on this front. We do hope to continue to bring you more on this story as we have it.

On the subject of boat brands being sold, we understand that Camero ski and wake boat brands have been sold to Northbank Boats. With current owner Haydn Wheeler retiring, Northbank owners Andrew and Chelsea Harris will take over Camero boats effective from this month.

Reports are that Camero will relocate to the Northbank Boats factory over the coming months and will resume manufacturing in early 2025. The transition is expected to maintain the current dealer network and staffing.

I do hope you enjoy this week’s news.
