NEWS UPDATE5 August 2022 Publishers noteThis has been a busy week for news. There is no question that the Sydney International Boat Show has been the catalyst for much of that. The event itself, activities at the show, and outcomes from the event have generated numerous stories featured this week. Our weekly Friday update intends to bring our readers a snapshot of the news stories that occurred over the previous seven days. We would like to include them all, but we can’t. Over the last week Marine Business News has published almost 30 stories. This newsletter does not have them all. We invite you to our webpage to see them. It was interesting to read that the BIA (NSW, SA & Qld) have signed a Heads of Agreement with BIA (Victoria). This is positive news for the industry with further unification allowing for the pooling of resources and a stronger industry voice at federal and state levels. We wish the industry the best on this journey. The BIA together with Sydney Show organiser Mulpha Events have reported a very respectable visitation of 45,000 people. As we have said over many decades, it’s not the volume of people we look at, it is the mix of qualified buyers with new people entering our market that we need. From all reports, this was achieved. This week we also publish a series of Sydney Boat Show photo libraries, with thanks to the Sydney Boat Show team. Lots to read and learn about. We hope you enjoy this week’s edition of our “Marine Business News update”.
