It takes a villageSince 2018, The Village Co has donated over 2000 bags to mums in need at the Women's and Children's Hospital. The bags contain essential items like nappies, baby clothing, underwear and breast pads to help women get a better start in motherhood and feel valued. Steph (right) is the founder of the organisation and was inspired to help the women she saw her role as a midwife.
Free parenting webinarsA new webinar series from CaFHS (Child and Family Health Service) is full of practical tips and advice to help parents and carers give their children get the best possible start in life. Hosted by professionals they cover a range of topics from breastfeeding, sleeping, and settling, to starting solids and play time.
Hospital shops raise $150kDid you know that our two hospital shops - Rainbows and Vic's Cafe are run by the Friends of the Women’s & Children’s Hospital Charity and are staffed by volunteers? Despite a difficult time recovering from shutdowns and visitor restrictions, the shops have raised an incredible $150,000 in the first half of the financial year.
Cycling strengthThanks to the Women's and Children's Hospital Foundation, a new supine cycle has been purchased for our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) which provides a safe and feasible way for patients to participate in physical activity earlier.
