Thursday Edition
Good morning members, and welcome to another Thursday! As we do every morning, we have an absolute stellar line up for you today (if do say so ourselves), so make yourself comfortable, grab some brekky and a cuppa and enjoy!
First things first, it’s time to give you all the answer to yesterday’s brain-busting riddle. Here’s a refresher:
A boy was at a carnival and went to a booth where a man said to the boy, “If I write your exact weight on this piece of paper, then you have to give me $50, but if I cannot, I will pay you $50.” The boy looked around and saw no scale, so he agreed, thinking no matter what the carny wrote, he’d just say he weighs slightly more or less. In the end, the boy ended up paying the man $50. How did the man win the bet?
This was a tricky one, eh? Well, it seems it wasn’t for a fair few of you, though! The answer is the man did exactly as he said he would and wrote “your exact weight” on the paper. If you got this one correct, stick around, and you’ll find a shoutout waiting for you at the end of the newsletter.
Next up on the agenda, folks, is our Fascinating Fact for the week!
Have you ever wondered how much saliva you can produce in a single day? You can tell that saliva is an important substance because of the sheer amount you produce in a day. An average adult will secrete 1 to 2 litres of saliva per day, which will help with the mouth's various functions. That explains why we dribble at the mere mention or aroma of some chocolate chip bikkies! Isn't that fascinating?

Who here used to call their parents from the train station's public phone? Because there was no direct connection to home before mobile phones, kids devised a strategy of using the public phone at the train station or near the bus stop. Allow it to ring twice or three times before hanging up, and your mother will know that you were waiting for a ride!

A kea in New Zealand’s Hooker Valley
Today's picture is thanks to our member @Algieboy. It's a photo of a kea taken in New Zealand's Hooker Valley. Kea is a large parrot native to New Zealand's South Island's forested and alpine regions. A fun fact about keas: Did you know that keas are one of the most intelligent birds on earth? This native parrot, known as the 'Clown of the Alps,' can wreak havoc on many things (especially cars) and
has proven to be as intelligent as some of the world's smartest animals.
Fantastic shot, @Algieboy! Thanks for sharing this with us!

In all of the vast animal kingdom spanning the planet, seahorses (and their pipefish and sea dragon relatives) are the only species whose male members give birth to young. They can give birth to a few dozen to as many as 1,000 fully formed baby seahorses into the surrounding water.
