Learn the Strategy Behind Where We Chip and How We Plan Our Routes

Our team talks frequently about steps companies like yours can take to improve maintenance efforts and keep chipping sessions on track. But how do we do the same for you? In addition to training that ensures our team is prepared to handle your work in the safest, most efficient way possible, we pay careful attention to how we schedule appointments.

Here, our concrete chipping pros dig into how we determine where we’ll be and when — and how our approach helps to keep your appointments within budget and your fleet ready to roll.

How Does General Chipping Plan its Routes?

We have a number of teams on the road at once, each in charge of a general geographic region. We book their schedules in a way that allows them to strategically work their way through cities and states one day/appointment at a time. Here are some things to note.

Booking Ahead Helps Ensure Your Spot on the Schedule: Our team is always happy to travel to you to provide maintenance for your drums, silos and mixers, but advance notice is best. When we know ahead of time that you’ll require service, we can get you on our initial route and ensure you’re on it again when maintenance is due a few months later.

We Can Still Help on Shorter Notice: General Chipping understands that emergency maintenance needs happen. When a last-minute call comes in, we do our best to alert the team closest to you and reconfigure schedules to get your fleet back on track within a few days. Just remember, rush fees may apply.

Outside-the-Norm Appointments Are OK: Although most appointments take place in 12-hour overnight shifts, we are happy to accommodate companies with varying needs. If your work must take place during the daytime or noise ordinances impact how we can approach your job, let us know. We can always make it happen.

Is Chemical Cement Mixer Drum
Cleaner All You Need?

A chemically based cement mixer drum cleaner might seem like the easy fix for maintaining your redi mix truck drums and central mixers. But, is it enough to keep concrete buildup at bay? In short, the answer is no. While such products can do a great job helping to delay the onset of caked-on concrete, buildup will eventually make itself known. At General Chipping, we encourage those who use chemicals to keep their mixers and drums clean to incorporate concrete chipping into their maintenance routine, too.
