Guy Yanai, Insecurity Today, Thursday, November 21, 2024, 6–8pm Please join us at Harper's Books for the North American launch of Guy Yanai's new artist's book Insecurity, which compiles the series of PDFs created by Yanai's studio to simulate his eight international COVID-era exhibitions (2020-2023). An elegant archive of the 91 works exhibited during this cycle—as well as of the attendant anxieties from this precarious period—the book brilliantly elevates the utilitarian PDF format to artistic standing, while offering a Proustian transformation of the gallery sales kit. Contents: 216 pages, illustrated after full-color reproductions of the artworks, along with studio and installation shots; accompanied by original artist's statements and exhibition reflections. Elegantly designed by Aurore Chauve and published in an edition of 700 copies by Yundler Brondino Verlag (Marseille); printed in Italy by Golinelli. Featured galleries: Praz Delavallade (Paris and Los Angeles), Galerie Conrads (Düsseldorf), Miles McEnery (New York), König (Berlin), Seojung Art (Seoul), and Harper's (Los Angeles). The artist will be signing books at the launch, where he will also debut 10 boxed special edition copies, 5 new artist-framed drawings, and 3 new paintings.
