Wednesday Edition
Bonjour membres! Comment vas-tu aujourd'hui? For our non-French speaking members, that means 'Good morning, members! How are you today?' Today is shaping up to be a beautiful day here in Sydney, and we hope you're all enjoying the weather wherever you are in the world (unless you're in Perth, we hear the weather is pretty bad over there at the moment, so stay dry!) We have some lovely things lined up for you today, so make sure you're comfortable and have a cuppa handy.
First up, we have this week's deals from Coles, Woolworths, ALDI, and IGA. There are some great offers in there, so make sure to check them out!
Next, we have your second riddle of the week, courtesy of member @Dennis R! It’s a tricky one, so get those thinking caps on! Here it goes:
I can travel at nearly 100 miles per hour but never leave the room. You can cover me up, but that doesn’t slow me down. You will not know if I come only once or again and again and again. What am I?
Have a good, long, hard think about this one, and if you think you know the answer, head on over to our riddle masters thread here. If you get the answer correct, you’ll get a shoutout in tomorrow’s newsletter!

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is thanks to member @MotherGoose, who shared a lovely memory about meeting Queen Elizabeth. ‘One of my earliest and most cherished childhood memories is Queen Elizabeth's visit to Australia in February/March 1963. It was a grand tour, encompassing every Australian state and territory. The itinerary included a drive through East Victoria Park (WA), the suburb where I lived, in an open limousine. I was only five years old and in grade 1 in 1963, but there was no school that day as most of the local
population was out lining the streets to see the Queen and Prince Phillip. I clearly recall waiting to see her as the limousine drove down Sussex Street, a stone's throw from our house. As she approached, a hush descended upon the crowd and, to my mother's horror, I piped up and loudly exclaimed, "Look, Mummy, she's got a hat just like Aunt Judy's," which caused considerable mirth amongst the spectators. I've often wondered if the Queen heard me and whether she may have derived some amusement from that incident.’
Hahaha, I wonder if the Queen did hear you! It must have been a really special time. The Queen’s visit to Australia in 1963 was a cherished memory for many and it's great that you were able to experience it. Thank you for sharing your story with us!

A woman was walking down the street when she was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked her for a couple of dollars for dinner.
The woman took out her wallet, extracted ten dollars, and asked, ‘If I give you this money, will you buy some wine with it instead of dinner?’
Ooh, this one is hilarious! A big thank you to member @Luckyus for sharing this one! Check out the rest of the joke here.
