Lealman Nights Begins This Month
The Lealman Farmers Market has a new name and a new night! On Saturday, October 24th, Lealman Exchange will host the first Lealman Nights from 6-9pm in Raymond H. Neri Community Park. Lealman Nights kicks off with Minions and Monsters projected on a 33' screen, alongside a lineup of local food vendors. Bring a blanket, grab dinner from one of the vendors, and settle in for a free family movie under the stars. The original launch was set for October 10th, but the weather had other ideas. Future Lealman Nights are scheduled for the Second Saturday of every month. We'll be watching the skies and make
adjustments as needed for everyone's comfort and safety. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram for updates.

Move Pinellas reminds us pedestrian safety is a crucial concern for all. - Use extra caution when driving in low-visibility conditions, such as at night or in adverse weather.
- Always drive sober, stop for pedestrians, and obey speed limits, especially in areas pedestrians frequent.
- Drive with extra caution near schools, transit spots, and neighborhoods where children are present.
Residential tire disposal fee waived this month
A single tire sitting in your yard can become a breeding site for thousands of mosquitoes. Pinellas County Solid Waste is waiving residential tire disposal fees from Sept. 28 to Oct. 30, 2026, to help reduce the spread of dengue fever. Pinellas County residents can bring up to four unwanted tires, no more than 36 inches in diameter, to the Solid Waste Disposal Complex free of charge. Tires can be attached to rims. A few things to know: The fee waiver is for residents only and does not apply to businesses. Tires must be kept separate from other trash or waste. Bring a driver’s license to verify Pinellas County residency.
Location: Solid Waste Disposal Complex, 3095 114th Ave. N., St. Petersburg Hours: Monday–Friday: 6 a.m.–6 p.m.; Saturday: 7 a.m.–5 p.m.

Pinellas Ale Works to open PAW Taps & Tails in Lealman this fall Via St. Pete Rising Pinellas Ale Works is expanding with a second location in Lealman. The St. Pete brewery will open PAW Taps & Tails this fall at 5518 Haines Road North, taking over the former Dissent Craft Brewing Company taproom following its closure last summer. The 2,400-square-foot
taproom will serve as an extension of Pinellas Ale Works’ flagship brewery in the Grand Central District, which opened in 2016. PAW Taps & Tails will feature up to 38 taps, communal seating, and retail space with dog-related merchandise, including toys, collars and treats. A food truck is also planned for the future, according to Brewery Liaison and General Manager Jeromy J. Dana. The new taproom will also have a large parking lot, an amenity the flagship location lacks. No major renovations are planned, but cosmetic updates will allow the taproom to offer significantly more seating than Dissent did.
Largo radar plant expansion brings 100 new jobs Via St. Pete Catalyst A $26.5 million expansion of RTX’s Collins Aerospace operation in Largo is moving forward as the company prepares to increase radar production and add more than 100 jobs. Recent Pinellas County permitting records show interior construction underway at Collins Aerospace’s facility at 7887 Bryan Dairy Road, with the work identified
as part of the “RTX RADAR PROJECT.” The expansion is expected to be completed this year, an RTX spokesperson said. New hires began in March, with about 100 additional employees expected by 2027. The Largo facility currently employs nearly 800 people. The investment will help Collins Aerospace ramp up production of two radar systems, the Condor Mk3 and ASR-XM, as part of a broader federal effort to replace aging air traffic control infrastructure. The Condor Mk3 communicates directly with aircraft transponders to provide information such as identity, altitude and location. The ASR-XM uses reflected radio signals to detect aircraft independently. Together, the systems give air traffic controllers different ways to track
what’s in the sky.
