Saturday Edition
Hey Hey, members, it’s Saturday! It’s so lovely to be in your inbox this morning. I (Maddie) am taking over the Saturday newsletter today because the wonderful Vella is on annual leave and I am over the moon to be here. I absolutely love Saturdays, especially in the warmer months. I plan on taking my little Jack Russell, Poppy (our Barketing Manager) to the dog beach this morning and grabbing a coffee on my way down. My partner Hugh and I are then going to visit some friends, so I’m really looking forward to today, but not as much as I’m looking forward to this newsletter. 😉 So let’s get straight into it, shall we?
First things first, I know I need to reveal the answer to yesterday’s riddle, but for those of you who are like me and don’t even remember what the riddle was, here’s a nice little reminder:
David’s father has 3 sons, Snap, Crackle and who?
Ah, that’s right. This rings a bell! I tested Hugh with this riddle on Friday. I had to repeat it 3 times before he got the answer correct. His first answer was ‘who’ which is incorrect. His second answer was ‘pop’ which, unfortunately, is also incorrect. But his third and final answer was… David! Which was finally, correct. For those of you who also answered David, you’ve scored yourself a shout-out at the bottom of the newsletter! Congratulations, Riddle Masters. Keep up the awesome work. And hey, if you didn’t get this one correct, keep trying. You never know, you might get it right on your third go. 😉
Next up, we have our ‘What Would the Grandkids Say’ segment and wow do I feel unqualified to run this segment. But I know I must deliver, so after some research, I found this bizarre term the kids are using these days. The term is ‘wig’. (Yes, wig). They say wig when they are extremely excited about something, often to the point of shock. The way someone explained it on the internet was ‘it’s basically like you’re shocked. Like something exciting or crazy just happened that made you so shocked that your wig flew off.’ I believe an example of using it in a sentence might be something like, ‘You wouldn’t believe what happened this
week! I won 1 million dollars in the lotto!’ ‘NO. WAY. WIG.’ I highly recommend using this with the grandkids this weekend and reporting back to me about how well it was received.
Okay, one more thing from me before we dive into the news, folks! That’s right, it’s this week’s ALDI Special Buys! There are some real goodies this week, so be sure to check them out!
