Arts for Learning Receives a Visionary Award!

This year, Arts for Learning was presented with the FDS Visionary Award! We are honored to be recognized with this award for our continued commitment to transforming education and championing creativity in Indiana schools.

A visionary is someone creative, focused, and enthusiastic about the work they engage in. Each and every day, we strive to bring dedicated Teaching Artists into Indiana classrooms, making education whole through the arts. With each student that is impacted by these lessons, our Teaching Artists are equally impacted by the creativity and excitement of their students.

Thank you to all of our schools, teachers, and parents who have shown a shared commitment and care to creating access and opportunity, and thank you, Family Development Services, for this recognition!

Wolf Trap Teaching Artist Certifications ✅

This past month, our Teaching Artists dived into Wolf Trap Certification, growing their skills to bring arts-integrated learning to our youngest learners.

Because quality early childhood education is not just important, it is foundational. It is how we give children the strongest possible start in school and in life.

Through music, movement, storytelling, and creative exploration, our artists are learning how to spark joy, build confidence, and support development in every early learning space.

Want to bring this kind of transformative arts-integrated education to your classroom or center?

Reach out to Paisley at PGibson@ArtsForLearningIndiana.org  or 317. 925. 4043 x117 to learn more about our programs and professional development opportunities.

Kate Appel Community Celebration Prize!

In honor of Kate Appel, a visionary board member and leader whose generosity has always been rooted in action and community, we’re carrying her spirit forward as she retires from our board through the Kate Appel Celebration Prize, by sharing the gift of the arts with our community at our Open House.

Open House guests will be invited to sign up for a chance to receive the Kate Appel Celebration Prizes: a creative gift of art supplies to spark imagination at home, and to nominate a school to receive a voucher for a free Arts for Learning performance or program.

Each act is a small but meaningful reflection of Kate’s belief that the arts should be shared, experienced, and accessible to all.

Because of Kate’s leadership, we’ve seen how one person’s commitment can ripple far beyond what’s visible - igniting creativity, opening doors, and inspiring others to do the same.
