Register your interest now for CIIE 2025

China International Import Expo is the world's largest import Expo. In 2024, ​it featured 3,496 exhibitors and reached US$80.01 billion worth of tentative deals for the purchase of goods and services for a 1-year period.

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) invites you to participate on the Western Australian premium food and beverage stand at the 2025 China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, China.

The Western Australian stand will comprise a fully fitted stand within the Australian Pavilion located in the Food and Agricultural Products Halls at the Expo, offering WA agribusinesses with the rare opportunity to showcase their produce under the Western Australian and national brand.

DPIRD will cover the cost of the stand and a government representative to provide support on-stand during the Expo. By participating you will have a great opportunity to:

  • Showcase your products to state-owned enterprises, importers, traders, distributors and regional sub-distributors, online and offline retailers.
  • Explore business opportunities under the China-Australia Free Trade Agreement.
  • Promote your products under the Western Australian and Australia’s Nation Brand.
  • Receive networking support from the WA Government Office China.
  • Raise your brand awareness and reach out to broad business communities through social media platforms in China.
  • Participate in selected Australian government programs at CIIE.

Participation on the stand will also provide you with:

  • The advantage of showcasing your products without the cost and the stress of organising your own stand.
  • Access to on-site food sample preparation and serving area.
  • Dedicated time slots for you to provide sampling of your product/s.

Closing date and time

Navigating US Tariffs: Tariff update with Ambassador Rudd

Grow your brand in Australian retail - WA Food and Beverage Market Development program

The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) is excited to announce our WA Food and Beverage Market Development Program.

In collaboration with industry experts, the program is designed to give you the tools to confidently navigate the current Australian retail market. Delivered through a mix of workshops, one-on-one consultations and buyer introductions, participants will walk away with a well-rounded knowledge of the industry.

The program consists of:

  • Phase 1: Full day masterclass and 1-on-1 business capability consultations
  • Phase 2: Pricing review and pitch deck development and 1-on-1 consultations
  • Phase 3: Pitching and buyer preparation
  • Phase 4: Key distribution/retailer introductions and presentations

Participants are expected to gain:

  • Deep understanding of margins.
  • Having a professional sales pitch deck prepared for them.
  • A focused strategy to retailers and foodservice.
  • And more. 

When does the program run?

The program starts on 12 August 2025 running through to end of October 2025 consisting of four phases.

    New round open for Agrifood and Beverage Voucher Program

    The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development have launched a new round of the successful Agrifood and Beverage Voucher Program.

    The Agrifood and Beverage Voucher Program supports small-to-medium enterprises across regional and metropolitan Western Australia to access expert advice to build resilience and sustainability, competitiveness, scale, and export preparedness into their operations.

    The Voucher Program:

    • Enables competitive WA food and beverage manufacturing companies to access up to $20,000 worth of vouchers, with 50:50 co-contribution.
    • Up to two vouchers, worth a maximum $10,000 each, are available per business.
    • Supports small businesses that are value-adding to the state’s raw agricultural produce.  
    • Facilitates engagement of consultants or technical experts to help plan growth strategies, overcome obstacles to growth, and improve sustainability credentials.

    A total of $700,000 in funding is available during this round. Applications are open from 8 July to 26 August 2025. More program information can be found here.
