Sunday Edition
Good morning wonderful members! And a very happy Sunday to you all. I (Maddie) am very much looking forward to this morning. Mainly because I’ve had a really hectic few weeks and I’m looking forward to doing absolutely nothing this weekend. My main plan for this morning is to get Hugh to make me a coffee in bed, read our newsletter, and then maybe read a book for a little before I roll out of bed and take my favourite little furry friend, Poppy, for a walk.
Now, as many of you know by now I love starting our Sunday mornings with a quote of the week to reflect on and I have been overjoyed to receive so many wonderful quotes from each and every one of you to share in these newsletters. So I just want to take a moment to say, if you do want to send through a quote to have featured in our Sunday newsletter, please feel free to email it to me here! I’ve been keeping all the quotes that you have sent through in a safe spot and as the weeks go on I’ll work my way through the ‘Sunday quote’ folder I’ve
made.
Today’s quote was sent in by the lovely member Barry D. Here’s how it goes:
‘What is for you, will not go by you.’
When I read this email from member Barry D. I almost burst into tears! It was like Barry knew exactly what I needed to hear that day. This quote reminded me that sometimes things don’t work out the way we planned and that doesn’t mean it won’t work out at all. I think we can all agree that life has a funny way of making things happen and it’s really hard to see that until you look back on something and realise that maybe all the tough times, the tears, and the sleepless nights weren’t all for nothing, and you know what? Sometimes they were and all you can do is laugh about it! So remember, folks, what is for you, will not go by you!
So, let’s take a look at what happened across Australia and around the world this week:
-

I absolutely loved this post by member @Lelly when she was reflecting on her old job! Who here remembers ticket writers at the supermarket? Well, member @Lelly was a ticket writer for Woolworths and here is what she had to say about the job, ‘My first job was as a ticket writer for Woolworths. I sat in a little office and painted on card stock all the special price signs for the store. I was trained by a very severe spinster who demanded perfection with each brush stroke.’ Oh, @Lelly we’ve all been there! I remember one of my bosses when I worked at a cafe who would take money out of our pay if we even slightly spilled any coffees, teas, juices, or smoothies! I do not
miss those days!

Kookaburra in the ‘Ol' you know where’...
Wow. How incredible is this photograph that was posted on our forum by member @Algieboy? I don’t know if it’s just me, but it looks like a painting! You can see so much detail in the Kookaburra’s feathers and also in the tree bark that it looks like it is paintbrush strokes creating the detail. It’s such a great photograph @Algieboy, thank you for sharing it with us all!
