On the announcement, Ambassador Al Otaiba said: "The decision by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to accept the invitation to join the Board of Peace reflects the UAE’s enduring commitment to turning diplomacy into real progress on the ground. We believe that lasting peace requires serious leadership, coordinated international action, and a clear path that delivers security, dignity and opportunity for all — especially the Palestinian people. The UAE stands ready to work closely with the United States, under the leadership of President Donald Trump and with regional and international partners to help implement a comprehensive peace plan that supports stability and peace for Gaza and the wider region." UAE Joins US-Led Pax Silica Forum for Secure AI Supply Chains The United Arab Emirates joined the US-led Pax Silica initiative, a strategic coalition aimed at securing resilient and innovation-driven supply chains for semiconductors, artificial intelligence and critical minerals essential to the AI era. The Pax Silica declaration was signed by HE Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State, and Under Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Helberg. The initiative includes eight nations as signatories in addition to the UAE and US: Australia, Israel, Japan, Netherlands, Qatar, Republic of Korea, Singapore and the United Kingdom. Commenting on the UAE’s participation in Pax Silica, Ambassador Al Otaiba said: “By joining Pax Silica, the UAE is reinforcing a core principle we share with the United States: that the future of artificial intelligence must be grounded in trust and resilient global partnerships. But Pax Silica is about more than AI alone — it is also about economic prosperity, critical minerals and the infrastructure that powers the digital age. As AI reshapes economies, supply chains and societies, initiatives like Pax Silica help ensure that innovation remains open and is developed and deployed responsibly — protected by strong safeguards and guided by shared standards. Pax Silica reinforces the UAE–US technology partnership and contributes to a stable, secure foundation for the Silicon Age — one that supports long-term growth, opportunity and shared prosperity.” 2025 was a pivotal year for UAE-US relations, highlighted by major agreements and investments in artificial intelligence and energy. In his year-end message, Ambassador Yousef Al Otaiba highlighted the UAE commitment to invest $1.4 trillion to the US over the next decade, with more than 39 deals totaling hundreds of billions of dollars already announced.
