Friday Edition
Happy Friday, everyone! We hope you all had a great week and are looking forward to a relaxing weekend. We don’t want to jinx things, but for the first time all week we’re actually seeing some blue sky showing here in Sydney. Fingers crossed it holds out over the weekend! Anyway, we’ve got a lot of exciting things lined up for you today, so let’s get right into it, shall we?
First up, we have the third and final riddle of the week, brought to us by member Dennis R. Thanks for this awesome riddle Dennis!
I am something people love or hate. I change people's appearances and thoughts. If a person takes care of themselves, I will go up even higher. To some people, I will fool them. To others, I am a mystery. Some people might want to try and hide me, but I will show no matter how hard people try, I will never go down. What am I?
Oooh, this is a classic! How are you folks faring with this one? If you think you know the answer, head over to our riddle masters thread here and submit it. If you get the answer correct, we will give you a shout-out in tomorrow’s newsletter!
Oh, and one more thing before we get stuck into today’s stories, don’t forget to check out this week’s Coles Best Buys. There are quite a few bargains on there, so don’t miss out!
Now, what’s happening in Australia and around the world today?

One last thing, members. We wanted to let you know that Maddie has Covid! She’s managed to avoid it for the last 2+ years, but came down with some nasty symptoms earlier in the week and officially tested positive on Thursday! Never fear, she’s doing fine, but take this as a reminder to stay vigilant, folks.
As always, members, stay safe and happy reading!

Who here had a View-Master when they were younger? That iconic red plastic View-Master with its reels of colourful images that transported us to faraway lands or allowed us to relive our favourite scenes from television shows and movies. It was all the rage in the 1970s, and many kids would spend hours looking through their View-Masters to pass the time. The View-Master was a window into another world, whether it was images of distant places, wild animals, or famous landmarks. Who still has their View-Masters?

Two nuns were shopping at a 7-11 store.
As they passed by the beer cooler, one nun said to the other, “Wouldn’t a nice cool beer or two waste wonderfully on a hot summer evening?”
The second nun answered, “Indeed it would, sister, but I would not feel comfortable buying beer since I am certain it would cause a scene at the checkout stand.”
Oh, this is a must-read for anyone who needs a laugh today. A big thank you to member @Skipton for sharing this one. You had us in stitches! Check out the rest of the joke here.
