Tuesday Edition
Gooood morning, members, and welcome to another wonderful Tuesday! We hope you are all feeling great and are ready for another day of fun and excitement. Here in Sydney it is, yet again, sopping wet, and judging by the weather forecast for the rest of the week, we’re thinking it might be a good time to start building an ark. Anyway, we’re still on solid ground for the time being and we’ve got a lot of great stuff lined up for you today, so without further ado, let’s get right into it.
First things first, let’s give you the answer to yesterday’s riddle!
I speak without a mouth and hear without ears. I have no body, but I come alive with wind. What am I?
Did you get it? The answer is… an echo! We thought this one was quite poetic. If you got it correct, give yourself a pat on the back and scroll on down to the bottom of this newsletter for your well-deserved shoutout! By the way, we’re running a little low on riddles, so if you have any head-scratchers that you’d like to inflict on us and the rest of the SDC, please email them in.
Now then, what’s happening in Australia and around the world today?

Also, check out today's OzWord, our 'Last Two Letters' game, our Word Search, our Sudoku puzzles, and our ‘Let’s write a limerick’ game (and a hat tip to member @Vinylted who we stole, errr, borrowed, the latter idea from). Who remembers this game? Back in the day, kids could make up a game with almost anything, including knuckle bones. We would gather them from the beach or wherever we could find them, including the Sunday roast. The game was similar to Jacks, except they used bones instead of small metal pieces. It was a lot of fun and a great way to kill time.

85 knitted teddies
Today’s lovely picture of the day is thanks to our dear member @JayKay. They posted this photo in our photography forum with the caption, “85 teddies of the 200 I knitted for the Samaritan's Purse Christmas Shoeboxes 2021.”
How adorable are these teddies? I am sure the kids who got them in their Christmas shoeboxes love them and will treasure them for years to come. This is incredibly thoughtful of you, @JayKay! Thank you for sharing this photo and the story behind it with us.
