BALTIMORE BULLETIN

Good morning and happy March!

The seasons are changing - birds are chirping, flowers are pushing through the soil, and we've turned the corner from CAP submission season into a season of action. With this in mind, I am excited to share with you that Adamah's Climate Action Fund is now accepting applications for its next round, and it’s bigger than ever! Applications for 0% interest loans of up to $250,000 (up from $100,000!) are due April 16.

Funded projects will demonstrate clear emissions reductions through clean electricity, electrification, or energy efficiency improvements. Project examples can include (but are not limited to) these examples of past awarded projects in Baltimore.

I will be in touch with project ideas tailored to your organization’s needs and goals. In the meantime, please reach out to me or Sarah Paulos at sarah.paulos@adamah.org with any questions. I hope to see a strong turnout from our amazing Baltimore community! If you’re ready to apply, feel free to submit your application here!

All the best,

Sam Sobel
Baltimore Climate Action Coordinator

P.S. As always, feel free to forward this bulletin to your colleagues and/or congregants!

Act Now for Solar: Strategies for Reducing Emissions and Lowering Energy Costs

Monday, March 16, 12 p.m. (60 minutes) or Wednesday, April 15, 1 p.m. (60 minutes)

The best time to install solar is right now, and the window is closing fast. As a result of federal legislation passed in 2025, the tax and rebate incentives relating to solar energy are changing. New project requirements have gone into place as of January 1, 2026, and will remain accessible through June 2026.

Despite these challenges, solar still is, and will remain, a cost-saving, accessible, and critical climate solution. At this program, we will introduce you to our trusted partners who are poised to help you finance a solar installation in compliance with the new regulations and to take advantage of all incentives that your project is entitled to. Register now to learn how you can make the most of this closing window by putting your solar planning into urgent action.

Energy Audits as a Starting Point

Monday, March 23, 12 p.m. (60 minutes)

Wondering where to start with climate action? An energy audit is one of the smartest first steps, and it generally pays for itself. An audit shows you exactly where your building is losing energy and money, then gives you a clear roadmap for what to do about it. The best part? Many audits are available for free through state and utility programs, and most recommendations are low-cost or no-cost changes that save you money right away.

In this webinar, we’ll demystify what an energy audit actually is, help guide you to the appropriate type of audit for your organization, and introduce a special group discount opportunity through Energy for Purpose. Energy audits take the guesswork out of climate action while saving you money.

Moving Climate Action Forward: A Two-Part Intensive

March 25, Wednesday at 12 p.m. and April 15, Wednesday at 12 p.m.

Climate action inside a Jewish organization isn’t always a technical challenge, it’s also a leadership one. Whether you’re just getting started or you’ve already mapped out a plan, the hardest part is often the same: building momentum, navigating competing priorities, and bringing others along with you.

This two-part intensive is designed to give you practical skills and peer support to lead climate action in your organization with more confidence and clarity. You’ll leave with a stronger sense of how to approach your work, how to engage stakeholders, and how to keep moving forward when things get hard.

Sessions are interactive and grounded in real challenges. Come ready to think, share, and learn alongside peers from across the Jewish community. This is a cohort style program with limited space, register to claim your spot!

  • Session 1: Building your approach to climate action: how to think about where you are, where you want to go, and how to make progress.
  • Session 2: Navigating the people side: stakeholder buy-in, common pitfalls, and how to stay on track when momentum stalls.
