The Texas Legislature is off to a strong start, securing big wins for conservative policy and border security. These victories didn’t happen by accident. Texas conservatives are taking bold action to secure our state’s future.

Rep. Cole Hefner (R-Mount Pleasant) filed HCR 51 Thursday. The resolution “demands” that Congress reimburse Texas for costs incurred in securing the southern border, saying the Biden Administration’s policies created $11 billion in state spending over a reported eight million border encounters from Jan. 2021 to present.
With the support of more than two-thirds of the Republican members of the Texas House of Representatives, the House passed a new rules package that includes a requirement that only members of the majority party can serve as committee chairmen.
Texas has deployed over 400 soldiers from the Texas Tactical Border Force to the Rio Grande Valley in collaboration with President Donald Trump’s efforts to secure the border, per a directive issued by Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday morning.
