Sunday Edition
Why Good Morning Members! How are you all doing today? We hope you’re all safe, well, and are ready to get stuck into some Sunday reading because we have plenty in store for you today.
As with every Sunday, we are going to start with the ‘quote of the week’. This week, we thought it would be very fitting to feature a quote about our ANZACs, although it isn’t ANZAC Day until tomorrow, we think it is extremely important to commemorate all Australians who have made it possible for us to sit here, read a newsletter, while sitting comfortably on the lounge sipping on a cuppa. Without the sacrifice of so many Australian men and women, we wouldn’t be here today, and that’s something we should be grateful for every day of the year.
When you go home tell them of us and say “For your tomorrow, we gave our today.”
We don’t think anything else needs to be said about this quote. It really does speak for itself. To all of our members who are Veterans, and to all of our members who knew and loved the men and women who sacrificed their lives for our beautiful country: We know thank you will never be enough, but thank you for your sacrifice, for what you gave up to provide a brighter future for us and for generations to come.
We are so lucky to be here today, and if we can say so ourselves, we think we live in the best country in the world!
Now, let’s get stuck into some news. What happened across Australia and around the world this week?

Who here remembers the dust storm that swallowed Mebourne on February 8, 1983? It turned day into night and was one of the most frightening things to witness at the time. Some people recall watching the dust come over the city like a wave, but no one expected it to be as bad as it was, with some people even remembering that their car lights weren’t even strong enough to help see a few metres ahead!

A Gent and his Owl, on the Royal Mile Edinburgh, 2019
How awesome is this picture taken by member @Aussiestorm? They posted it in our forum with no caption at all, because it doesn’t need one, does it? Pictures really do say a thousand words, and the words we gather from this picture is: This is one happy Gent with one great looking owl just enjoying each other's company, eh?
