NEWS UPDATE

02 October 2026

Publishers note

It’s that time of year when we’re in the mood to see goals kicked. With the AFL Grand Final last weekend and the Rugby League Grand Final this weekend, there is plenty to enjoy on the sporting front.

On the business front, someone who is no stranger to kicking goals is our very own Will Sangster, who has been promoted by Brunswick to Executive Vice President & President of Navico Group. Congratulations to Will on a well-deserved appointment. It is pleasing to see his achievements recognised and an Australian continuing to fly the Aussie flag with pride internationally.

Here at Marine Business News, we can also follow the activity and success of international boat shows simply by monitoring the news arriving from different parts of the world. The announcements provide a window into what is happening across the industry, with plenty to share with our readers.

Locally, Informa this week launched its Invitation to Exhibit for the 2027 Australian International Boat Show. Yes, I have been part of this, and proudly so. My involvement in boat shows began informally in 1993 and became a more serious undertaking in 1998. I am pleased to have the opportunity to again serve the recreational marine industry through this event. Seeing the invitation reach the industry is a rewarding milestone for everyone involved in its preparation.

If you would like to consider being part of the 2027 show, please read my story below, where I have included links to register your interest as an exhibitor.

We do hope you enjoy this week’s Marine Business News.
