Stockport Homes turned 20 years old in October and we’d like to take a moment to thank our customers. Your voice, ideas, and feedback are at the heart of everything we do. From getting involved in our Customer ASPIRE panel to helping shape our services and keep the town we love safe, you’ve all played such a huge part in making Stockport Homes what it is today. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to make positive changes over the last two decades, help those in need in our community, and adapt our services to suit every customer that lives in one of our homes. Thank you! Customer STAR Awards 2025Each year, our Customer STAR Awards shine a light on the people who go above and beyond to support others, strengthen communities, and inspire positive change. Nominated by neighbours, partner agencies, attendees and friends, our Stars are chosen by a panel of customers and Stockport Homes staff who are moved by their stories of dedication, resilience and kindness. This year’s event also coincided with Stockport Homes’ 20th Anniversary, a significant milestone that reflects two decades of partnership with our communities. It is fitting that we mark this moment by honouring the people who continue to shape Stockport for the better. Connecting Communities
We had such a wonderful time at our Connecting Communities events at Victoria Park, Brinnington, and Reddish! With arts and crafts, face painting, gardening workshops and free health checks, this was the perfect way to celebrate 20 years of serving our communities. Thank you so much to everyone who came along - we had so many fantastic conversations and there was a real sense of community spirit. Brindale bee trail off to a flying start!
Working with individuals living at Brindale House, Plastic Shed are designing and setting up a bee trail made out of recycled bottle lids for current and new residents to enjoy! Here's the progress so far - each bee is completely personal and helps tell the individual's story. Brindale House is temporary accommodation for families and individuals experiencing homelessness. The trail will create a fun, interactive adventure for new residents to enjoy, allowing them to be more comfortable within their space. Crafting, climbing, and canoeing at Holiday ClubFollowing Snow Camp, our SKylight summer Holiday Club provided places for 49 vulnerable young people across six days of activities. During this time they built bug hotels using foraged materials, made abstract prints using the sunlight, crafted photo frames using power tools, paddled along the Mersey and most importantly, made friends whilst gaining new experiences! A huge thank you to everyone who attended, SAZ Media, Cook Stars, Merseyway Workshop, Venutre Out, What If? and the volunteers from Beacon Counselling who provided extra wellbeing support. Art and Photography Competition
We had over 80 incredible entries to our recent Art and Photography competition! Thank you so much to everybody who took the time to create something that captures Stockport and its people. Our judges have made their final decisions, and the top ten entries will be revealed very soon. Watch this space! Abi thrives at Stockport HomesAbi, who works in the Pure Coffee café at Stockport Homes HQ, has just passed her Food Hygiene course! The Pure Coffee cafe's provide professional and social experiences for individuals with learning difficulties, working alongside colleagues to offer a truly excellent service. Thanks to her work experience, Abi is now taking charge of a trolley around our offices, bringing lunch and treats for colleagues to enjoy. Well done Abi - it is always such a pleasure to catch up with you, and we wish you all the best for the future! Community Clean Ups
As part of our commitment to improving the lives of our customers, volunteers and the caretaking team at Stockport Homes took part in many community clean ups across Stockport. Clean ups included Mottram Street Estate, Victoria Park, and York Close, where colleagues tidied up any litter around the green spaces and added planters to give residents a warm welcome. Proposed Rent and Service Charge Changes 2026/27Each year, Stockport Council ask for tenants' feedback on the proposed rent and service charge changes which take effect the following year. The proposed Rent and Service Charge changes will be open for your comments from Monday 10th November until 24th November. Tenant's comments will be incorporated into the final recommendation which will be considered by the Council’s Scrutiny Committee and Cabinet. Any approved changes to rents and service charges will then be implemented from April 2026. You can share comments using the button below.
