Addiction is one of society’s most misunderstood and rebuked health conditions. That stigma discourages many people from seeking treatment for substance dependence, according to a new report published in Psychological Science in the Public Interest, a journal of the Association for Psychological Science. A recent study found that early intervention can increase the likelihood of achieving long-term sobriety by up to 58%. This underscores the crucial role that early rehabilitation plays in successful recovery journeys. The NJ Department of Labor provides employment assistance to those with a personal history of opioid use or who have a friend of family member with a history of opioid use, so they can reenter the workforce.
