Thursday Edition
Good morning and happy Thursday, members! As we do every morning, we have a few things up our sleeve today. So make yourself comfortable, grab some brekky and a cuppa, and let’s jump right in!
First things first, it’s time to give you all the answer to yesterday’s riddle. Let’s get a quick reminder of what it was...
You live in a one storey house made entirely of redwood. What colour would the stairs be?
Well? What stairs? You live in a one-storey house, so there’s no stairs and therefore no coloured stairs! Oh, this one was a good riddle, eh? It seems like most of you had no trouble cracking this one! Congratulations Riddle Masters! And as always, if you got the answer correct, stick around, and you’ll find a shoutout waiting for you at the end of the newsletter.
Now, it wouldn’t be a Thursday without our fascinating facts, now would it? Who here has a dog? Well, they’re not called a ‘man’s best friend’ for nothing. Did you know that dogs can smell cancer? Researchers have found that dogs are able to pick up on a specific scent that cancer produces in a person that humans cannot detect. How incredible is that?
Oh! One last thing before the news, remember how we said we have a few things up our sleeve today? Well, we have written a mini-eBook on 'The Ultimate Guide To Planning Your Move To An Aged Care Facility'. Be sure to check it out, even if you aren't planning on moving any time soon. It's filled with advice from experts and even some of our very own members. Thank you to all of you that helped us put this together!

Remember milkshakes in metal containers? They were the best milkshakes and were extremely refreshing on a hot day. Do you still remember going to the local milk bar with your friends, listening to the jukebox’s songs, and giving yourself a 'brain freeze' by drinking the milkshake too quickly? Ah, memories!

Cherry Blossoms
Today’s photo was sent by member Dennis R. it was taken during his trip to Japan. Oh my goodness! Look at the fleeting beauty of the tree's fluffy white and pink petals. Truly breathtaking!
Did you know that the cherry blossom, also known as sakura in Japanese, is the country's unofficial national flower? The sakura season begins in the middle of March when spring first appears in Japan and other parts of Asia, and people flock to celebrate the end of winter and marvel at the beautiful blossoms. Hanami (cherry blossom viewing) parties are held under the trees to commemorate the seasonal spectacle.
