NEWS UPDATE

12 July 2024

Publishers note

It’s not surprising that much of the news this week relates to new products and launches that will be available at the imminent Sydney Boat Show. The news spans a significant portion of the industry, and we hope these create some much-needed buoyancy.

However, that wasn’t the only news. While this week was a bit quieter than the last few weeks, we still have plenty of news about our industry, both locally and internationally.

Back on the subject of boat shows, I received a call from an old colleague who has been appointed to deliver the Perth Boat Show this year. Hooray! Richard and his team are great marketers, and I feel the Perth event has a lot to offer the rest of the country. We just need to know what’s going on. I have attended the Perth event several times and can say it is an excellent event that should be shared nationally.

No disrespect to the previous organisers; in fact, Peter and I still speak fairly regularly. He was and remains a great operator.
