NEWS UPDATE27 September 2024 Publishers noteFrom the bizarre to the intriguing, this week’s news had it all. A Marine Rescue crew on the mid-north coast of NSW had an unusual job this week. It was to assist a fisherman after his vessel was struck by a whale off Grassy Head. Local Marine Rescue Inspector Rodney Page said, “The man’s stationary fishing vessel had been hit by a whale, causing damage to the bow of the boat and disabling the fuel supply.” The pictures give a true indication of the level of damage, and how lucky the skipper was to have the Rescue crew return him to the local ramp. Earlier this week, the team from BIA Victoria released a list of exhibitors for their upcoming show in Docklands on 17 to 20 October. It is a very impressive list, and full credit to the local team for mustering the confidence of the industry to get such good support. I have no idea if they have any space available, but if you are not booked in yet, I do suggest you give them a call. Their comms and promo have been very strong to date, and with their visitor prize offering and free visitor tickets, I think they have found the right package and mix to entice a strong audience. I do hope you enjoy this week’s news. Marine Business News is an Australian-owned marine industry news service publishing local and international news.
