UAE Hits Record Oil Exports – When the World Needs It Most
As the UAE navigates its post-OPEC independence and months of regional disruption caused by the Iran war, it is now exporting oil at record levels — 3.7 million barrels per day in June, according to data reported by Reuters. Ambassador Al Otaiba noted on X that this is "good news for global energy security."
The UAE officially left OPEC on May 1, citing its long-term energy strategy, production capacity and global energy market stability.
UAE Joins 35 Nations in Washington to Advance Trusted AI Supply Chains
Thirty-five nations, including the UAE, signed the Joint Statement on AI Opportunity at the second Pax Silica Summit in Washington, DC — a gathering of allied countries and leading technology companies aimed at advancing trusted AI supply chains and secure infrastructure.
UAE Minister of State HE Saeed Al Hajeri led the delegation, which included major national technology companies, and held bilateral meetings with the US and key Pax Silica partners. Al Hajeri called the summit a practical framework where the UAE-US strategic partnership is "translated into reality."
HE Al Hajeri also held bilateral meetings with senior officials from the US Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and State, as well as the Office of the US Trade Representative, deepening cooperation on trade, investment, financial security and emerging global challenges.
With bilateral trade at $39 billion in 2025 and a UAE commitment of $1.4 trillion in US economic impact over the next decade — with significant progress already made in the first year alone — the visit underscores the strength and momentum of the UAE-US strategic partnership.
UAE Embassy and CHOP Open Year-Round Soccer Field in West Philadelphia
The UAE Embassy's partnership with Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) reached new milestones this month on the soccer field and in the lab. Ambassador Al Otaiba joined CHOP to dedicate a new year-round soccer field at Conestoga Park in West Philadelphia, the latest in a series of UAE-supported fields in underserved communities nationwide. The following week, Abu Dhabi's Department of Health and CHOP signed an MOU at the BIO International Convention to advance gene editing for rare diseases — combining CHOP's pediatric expertise with Abu Dhabi's growing life sciences ecosystem.
