NEWS UPDATE25 September 2026 Publishers noteLast week, I mentioned that Sail Expo was coming up on the weekend. I jumped the gun: in-fact, it will run on 17 and 18 October at the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club (RPAYC) in Newport, in Sydney’s northern suburbs. That will be a busy weekend on Pittwater. Just around the corner, or around the bay, if you are arriving by water, the Royal Motor Yacht Club Broken Bay will celebrate its centenary and the 100th Opening of the Boating Season on that Saturday 17th. Down south, the Melbourne Boat Show will run from 16 to 18 October along Docklands’ New Quay Promenade and Harbour Esplanade. I have heard it said a million times that a good day is one in which you learn something new. This week has been full of those days, with plenty of news to share through Marine Business News. One story that made me pause was about World Rivers Day, this Sunday, 27 September. We spoke with GME, who is encouraging Australians to recognise the hidden risks associated with rivers and make emergency communication part of their preparation. You can read the full story in Marine Business News. Finally, a quick word on planning for the Australian International Boat Show. Next week, Informa will share more news about the event, particularly for those interested in exhibiting. To receive those updates, please ensure you have registered your interest here. You will also find the team’s contact details there if you would simply like to have a chat. We do hope you enjoy this week’s Marine Business News. #ETRWYW Marine Business News is an Australian-owned marine industry news service publishing local and international news.
