Saturday Edition
Hello, members and happy Saturday! We hope you're all doing well and staying safe. We just wanted to start this newsletter by saying that our hearts go out to all the flood victims across the country, especially those in the heavily flooded areas of Victoria. We know it’s been a tough few weeks and we just want to tell you that we are here for you. We hope that everyone stays safe and dry in the coming days and that the clean-up process goes as smoothly as possible. We know that you will get through this difficult time and come out stronger than ever.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you need anything. We are here to help in any way we can.
Now, let’s move on to today’s newsletter. We have a lot of great things in store for you! To start things off, let’s take a look at the answer to yesterday’s riddle. So, what was it again?
What has holes but holds water?
The answer to this one is, of course, a sponge! A watering can works too! Clever, right? We knew you would all be able to get this one! If you did, head further down in the newsletter, where you will find a shout-out just for you!
Now, onto our next segment for the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say?’ Today, we are taking a look at the phrase ‘hot mess'. If you describe someone as a hot mess, it means they are in complete chaos. This phrase is often used to describe someone who is very disorganised or in a state of disarray. It can also be used to describe someone who is such a mess but maintains a level of attractiveness or beauty. So, if your grandchild looks like they just rolled out of bed or forgot their homework until the night before, you can tell them they’re a hot mess!
Oh, one more thing before we get into the news, check out today’s ALDI Special Buys! There are a bunch of goodies here, including some gardening essentials. So don’t forget to browse them!

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is thanks to the wonderful @Suzanne rose: ‘With seeing a lot on TV on the Royals, I remember a dance we did in school in the 60s. Did you do this dance?’
Oooh, we haven’t heard of this dance before, but it sounds like it would be a lot of fun! We can imagine doing a curtsy or bow before spinning around with our partner. Did you do this dance at school? Thank you so much, @Suzanne rose, for sharing this lovely memory with us!

The Wall around Xian
Today’s stunning picture is thanks to our dear member @dragabagalong. He posted this photo in our photography forum along with the caption. ‘This is a section of the towering wall around the old part of the city of Xian. It was built to keep invaders out centuries ago. It is beautifully lit at night.’
We absolutely love this photo! It’s incredible to think that it was built over 3,000 years ago and that it has stood the test of time. And look at the colour of the sky – truly mesmerising! It looks like something out of a movie! Thank you, @dragabagalong, for sharing this lovely photo with us.
