Call for Nominations- 2026 Board of Directors Elections

The First Nations Housing Professionals Association (FNHPA) is pleased to announce the opening of nominations for the 2026 Board of Directors elections.

FNHPA is seeking committed housing professionals and leaders to help guide the strategic direction of the Association and support its mission of strengthening housing capacity in First Nations communities across Canada.

The following regional Board Director positions are open for election:

British Columbia
Alberta
Saskatchewan
Manitoba
Ontario
Quebec
Atlantic

NEW THIS YEAR
FNHPA is exploring the addition of a new position on the Board of Directors in 2027 for Northern, Remote and Special Access communities. There will be further discussions for board members and FNHPA membership throughout the remainder of this year.

ELIGIBILITY
Nominees must:

Be an active FNHPA Candidate or Certified Member in good standing.
Be willing and able to serve a three-year term as a Director.
Submit a completed nomination form.
Provide a current photograph.
Submit a candidate biography or promotional statement of no more than 300 words.

Nominations must be supported by two FNHPA voting members (Candidate or Certified Members) in good standing. In accordance with FNHPA policy, members may nominate an eligible candidate from any region; however, members may only vote for candidates within their own region.

Nominations will close on July 10, 2026 at 12:00pm Eastern Daylight Time.

Celebrating a record-breaking achievement!

We are proud to recognize 13 new First Nations Housing Professionals (FNHPs) who have successfully completed the First Nations Housing Professional Designation Program. This marks the largest graduating cohort in the program's history, a significant milestone that reflects the growing commitment to professional excellence and capacity development within First Nations housing.

Each graduate has demonstrated dedication, leadership, and a commitment to strengthening housing management in their communities. We congratulate all 13 graduates on this outstanding accomplishment and thank them for their contributions to advancing safe, sustainable, and culturally grounded housing across First Nations.

Fall 2026 Registration is Now Open!

Inspired by the success of our newest FNHP graduates? Now is the perfect time to begin your own professional development journey. Early registration for Fall 2026 courses is now open, with classes running from September 14 to December 13, 2026.

As part of our Early Registration Promotion, participants who register before July 31st, 2026 will be entered into a draw to win an Education-branded JBL Speaker. There will be five draws in total—one winner for each course level (100, 200, 300, 400, and 500).

Registration Now Open – MRP Toolbox Training (ON/MB)

Join us for a practical, hands-on training focused on understanding and working with Matrimonial Real Property (MRP) in First Nations housing.

Participants will build knowledge, explore real-world scenarios, and gain practical tools to support their communities with MRP.
