Welcome to the Spring Edition of the HOPE SF Newsletter!

As the flowers bloom and the days grow longer, we’re embracing new beginnings and fresh opportunities at HOPE SF. This season, we’re excited to share the latest updates, inspiring stories from our community, and upcoming events. We look forward to stepping into spring together with hope, growth, and a renewed sense of possibility!

Laying the Groundwork for a Thriving Community

The HOPE SF Initiative aims to build community bonds, foster relationships with residents, and promote diversity and inclusivity. Achieving these goals requires a robust physical infrastructure that establishes a secure and sustainable environment for this community to flourish. Read about the development progress happening at HOPE SF and revisit last quarter's updates!

Hunters View

Hunters View Phase Blocks 14 & 17, with 118 brand-new affordable homes, is nearly complete! The team is finalizing infrastructure repairs, and both buildings are on track to reach "TCO" (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy -- a document that's needed before a project can begin lease-up) in a couple of months. Work on the new park is getting ready to start. Check out the latest work at Hunters View!

Potrero

EVE Community Village (also known as Potrero Block B) will offer 157 affordable homes, with 117 for current Potrero residents. There's been a lot of infrastructure work the past couple of months, and landscaping of the courtyard and park is nearly complete. EVE Community Village is also fully electrified after being connected to the city's grid! Next up, the team is onboarding a general contractor to begin demolition for Phase 3. Take a look at photos from Potrero below!

Sunnydale

Construction at Sunnydale is moving full steam ahead! The team officially named the new buildings; Block 3A is Amani and Block 3B is Nia. Mercy Housing and Related are leasing up the retail spaces, including a coffee shop, the Brown Sugar Shoppe, and a Mexican restaurant, Semilla. Construction at Blocks 7 and 9 are scheduled to start in June after current demolition is completed. Check out the progress at Sunnydale!

Featured Project: TP Collaboration Clean-Up

Nearly a dozen Hunters View community members graduated from the 8-week program, which enlisted volunteers to join a neighborhood and parks cleanup.

Summer of Housing

This May and June, nonprofit organizations are coming together to help residents connect with safe, stable and affordable housing with TWO MONTHS of workshops and events for renters, first-time homebuyers, and current homeowners!

As the nation’s first large scale, explicitly anti-racist community development initiative, HOPE SF centers resident voices, builds community wealth, and supports healthy communities. We are developing vibrant, mixed income communities at four public housing communities without mass displacement of original residents.
