UAE Celebrates Emirati Women’s Day
On August 28th, the United Arab Emirates celebrated Emirati Women’s Day, honoring the outstanding achievements and contributions of Emirati women to the nation’s development. This year’s theme, “We Share for Tomorrow,” reflects the UAE’s commitment to progress through collaboration and storytelling. Ranked seventh globally in the UN’s Gender Inequality Index 2024 report, the UAE continues to make strides to advance women and gender equality. The UAE also leads gender parity in the Arab world and is the only nation to achieve full gender parity in parliament in 2024.
During an interview with the US-UAE Business Council, UAE Embassy Deputy Chief of Mission Alia Alsuwaidi reflected on the meaning of Emirati Women’s Day and the positive impact that Emirati women are having on business.
Embassy Representative Completes Seven-City, Seven-Day Climate Roadshow
Hussein El Gaafary, head of Climate, Energy and Water Initiatives at the US Embassy in Washington, DC met with business leaders, policymakers and environmental advocates during a cross-country, seven-city climate tour last month. During briefings in Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Phoenix, Chicago and Madison, Hussein explored future collaboration and underscored the UAE’s commitment to climate action and sustainable development.
