Saturday Edition
Good morning and welcome to another stellar Saturday members! Any big plans for today? Whether you plan to relax with family and friends or take some well-deserved ‘me-time,’ we hope this weekend gets you feeling fresh and rejuvenated. After all, you deserve it, eh!
Now we have quite a few things for you today, starting off with the answer to yesterday’s riddle! Let’s remind ourselves of it, shall we?
When asked to name their favourite foods, Jill, Jane and Joanna chorused: “Beetroot, lettuce, and coughdrops.”
Added Joanna: “That statement needs qualifying. In fact, each of us eats only two of the foods. And each food is eaten by only two of us.” “Jill eats beetroot. I don’t eat coughdrops.”
Which foods does Jane prefer?
Did you get it? Jane’s favourite foods are lettuce and coughdrops (a weird mix we must admit). My goodness! You lot are just too good! We thought this one would have you stumped. But of course, once again, you have proved us wrong. If you managed to get the answer correct, head further down in the email, and you’ll spot a shoutout just for you!
Now onto our next segment for the day, ‘What Would the Grandkids Say’. Today, we are taking a look at the phrase ‘understood the assignment’. This phrase is a popular way to praise someone successful at something they needed to do. When somebody ‘understood the assignment,’ they gave it their all and went above and beyond to do an amazing job. This phrase is often used to describe actors who’ve given a string of outstanding performances. But this isn’t limited to famous people. You can say this
phrase to describe someone who’s well-dressed or who is at the top of their game. So next time your grandkids do well in school or wear a really nice outfit, tell them they ‘understood the assignment’ 😉
