Saturday Edition
Welcome to another wonderful Saturday, members! We hope you're all ready for a bit of rest and rejuvenation after a busy week, because we certainly are! And you know a great way to kickstart a restful weekend? Reading our jam-packed newsletter đ So, settle in, make yourself comfortable, and get ready to dive into today's activities!
First, let's look at the answer to yesterday's riddle. So, what was it again?
One is to three, as three is to five, and five is to four - but four is the magic number. Why?
And the answer to this one is... Because four is the only number with the same number of letters as its name. If you read the riddle carefully, youâll notice that the word one has three letters (one is to three), the word three has five letters (three is to five), five has four letters (five is to four), and four has four letters, so four is to four! We love a good word play riddle here at the SDC, and this one certainly had us stumped for a while. But, as always, a fair few of you came through with the correct answer! If you did, you'll find a well-deserved shoutout waiting for you at the bottom of this newsletter.
Now onto our next segment for the day, 'What Would the Grandkids Say.' Today we're taking a look at the term âsusâ. Sus is short for suspicious, and it's often used to describe someone or something that seems fishy or off. Sus can be used to describe a person, a situation, or even a place. For example, if you're at a party and you see someone you don't know, you might say they're sus. Or if you're talking to your friend about a new person they're dating, and you don't trust them, you might say they seem sus. So next time your grandkids are in a sus situation, make sure they know to get out of there!

Remember when your mum used to make her own ground beef at home? She would clamp the hand mincer to the table and start cranking, filling the kitchen with the smell of fresh meat. These hand-held machines were used to mince meat and fruits for pies. The hand mincer was a kitchen tool often passed down from generation to generation. They are now considered a novelty item, but in the 1950s, they were a must-have in any home.
