NEWS UPDATE2 December 2022 Publishers noteIt was a very interesting news week, with local outboard engine companies doing their thing for the environment, good causes, or going solar. All in all, good news from some of our industries leaders. Association bodies were also in the news. The BIA launched their Discover Boating campaign for the summer, Superyacht Australia with the Superyacht Crew Academy hosted an evening to promote job opportunities and education in their sector. On the government front, Maritime Safety Queensland is asking for feedback about the proposed changes for the wearing of lifejackets and kill switch safety lanyards. In NSW, boaters are being offered an opportunity to drop off expired flares. And let’s not forget Michelle. I received another one of her calls last night. Apart from the fact that she sounded great, she also made me laugh, with the biggest problem on her mind being that she may have run out of pudding. Read my musings from the call here. The new 40kW system was turned on in September at the company’s Gold Coast offices which serve as a warehouse and distribution centre for Mercury’s Queensland operations and incorporates a sales centre and workshop for the servicing of engines.
