Sick of hearing from us every day? Click here to get the Sunday only send.
Good morning, members! Happy Sunday! How are you all doing? I (Jarred) hope you all have had a pleasant beginning to your day. As usual, I’m starting mine with a nice, hot cup of coffee that will give me a boost before heading off for a bit of fun and rest in an hour or so.
But before all that, let’s jump straight to our quote of the week from member @Janice M:
‘I used to hate the rug being pulled out from under me, until I learned to dance on a shifting carpet.’
Now, isn’t that an absolute gem? Nothing is ever certain in life, especially the fact that we’re never assured of a stress-free ride as we go through our lives. When the ‘rug’ is pulled from under us, it can cause quite a fall — the kind that leaves you sore and hurting and without the will to get back up. But when you learn to ‘dance’, suddenly, everything seems less of an obstacle in your way and more of a challenge to conquer and to learn from. My mood hasn’t been the best recently, and this is exactly what I needed to read. When the carpet shifts again, I know what I’ll be doing. 😉
Now let’s look at what happened across Australia and around the world this week:
-
YOUR SAY SUNDAY: Start your day with a thought-provoking question! If you could choose any age to stay in for the rest of your life, which would it be? We want to hear from YOU.
-
Coles, Woolies, ALDI, & IGA gave us some great deals this week, such as Bakers Tennis Biscuits 200g for $2.79 and Omo Laundry Liquid 2-Litre or Powder 2kg for $13. You can still get these deals today!
-
And we also saw a few recalls, with alerts issued for a popular beer with a dangerously high alcohol content, a toy for infants that could cause serious injuries or
worse, and a line of chips sold in five states that was found to be contaminated with ‘foreign matter’. Don’t miss these, members!
-
A scammer unfortunately fleeced $100K from a 90-year-old grandmother, and it all started with a simple notification on her
device…
-
A distraught single mum, reduced to tears over an impending Centrelink complication, issued a desperate question to Treasurer Jim Chalmers on national television: ‘What am I going to do?’
-
WOW! Bunnings has a HUGE $48 million surprise in store for Aussies, and with an extensive garden centre, kitchen cafe, and a kids’
playground, you haven’t seen the likes of it yet!
-
A hugely popular fast-food chain was accused of discrimination after a job advertisement they put out didn't include a certain demographic. What can be done about this?
-
Costco has been getting attention as the newest player on the Aussie retail scene, but one catch is its annual $60 membership fee. We’ll let you in on a secret: you can access their deals without breaking the bank! All you need to do is…
-
Woolworths is giving away 49 million rewards points and $3,000 home appliance packages as part of a MASSIVE GIVEAWAY. Here’s how to get your hands
on these amazing prizes!
-
A livid radio host spared no expense in letting a ‘dole bludger’ couple know his thoughts on their widely criticised welfare decisions: ‘We pay for
your laziness… We need our money back.’
-
‘Just like that, we had no idea.’ One of the AFL’s most recognisable voices has broken his silence and shared his battle with an incurable disease, sending shockwaves across the Aussie footy landscape.
-
An up-and-coming fast-food dupe drawing comparisons to KFC’s classic chook had social media abuzz. So where can you buy it?
-
But that’s not all that rocked the internet this week: a delicious instant chocolate cake tip made its rounds online, and even some of our members were raring to try it. How about you?
-
A stunning ALDI dupe of a $62 designer lip balm was a sensation among shoppers, and the best part is it’s only $9.99! ‘This is so affordable and feels just like the original.’
-
The winter chill is slowly creeping in, and few dishes are as perfect for the cold weather as stew. Feast on this delicious recipe that is sure to leave you wanting more!

Hare Street Art
Member @featherfour submitted today’s Picture of the Day, showing a rather life-like hare scrawled along a wall. ‘I love this bit of street art,’ they said. ‘He does look as if he’s about to eat the plant.’ How true! And not only that, the art has a particular texture that gives it the impression of having fine fur. The way the head is skewed ever so slightly to the right with its ears raised also makes
it look like the viewer startled it, and it’s deciding whether to run or not. Art that imitates life, indeed! Thank you for this interesting picture, member @featherfour. And if you have a photo you’d like to share, feel free to head to our Photography forum and post your impressive shot!
