Sunday Edition
Good morning and a very happy Sunday to you all! We hope you had a restful sleep and are ready for a relaxing Sunday (we know we sure are). It’s been a wonderful week for the team here at the SDC, we’ve kicked a few big goals, and have brainstormed some great ideas which we are aiming to launch over the next few months for you lot! Let’s just say, there are some exciting things to come, folks. 😉
Now, every Sunday you may or may not know that we love giving you our quote of the week. This week’s quote is incredibly simple but powerful.
‘A negative mind will never give you a positive life.’
Not too shabby, eh? I just loved this one because it’s the truth. On those days when we think negatively, we act poorly and then we have ‘bad days’. When we think more positively, we tend to act better and have better days. I also like the idea that my day (or my life) can be determined by my mindset. It makes me feel like I have a lot more control over what happens to me, and how I react to it. So, maybe have a think about this one over the next few days. How can you change your mindset just a little, to make your day better?
So, what happened around the world and across Australia this week?

Today’s ‘Yesterday’s Australia’ segment is thanks to member @Mr Icecream. ‘My mother died in 1960. Two years later I came home from school as a 7-year-old feeling very sick. My dad asked what I had eaten that day. I confessed to having eaten some lollies. (Dad made sure we always ate very healthfully!) "And where did they come from?" "I bought sixpence worth at the local store," I honestly responded. "And where did you get the money for them? "My teacher asked me to go to the shop at recess time and buy her cigarettes. She gave me the sixpence for helping her." The shop was about four blocks away from the school--about a kilometre away! For some odd reason, I never
got to buy cigarettes for anyone ever again!’
Oh my goodness, @Mr Icecream! Can you imagine that happening these days?! 😂 There’s no way anyone would let a 7-year-old buy cigarettes, even if they were paid sixpence! Thank you for sharing this memory with us, it gave us all a good laugh.

The third person walks in and the guy asked for her name. She said, ‘Jill. Well, Jill, you have nice legs.’

The primary name for a group of lions is simply ‘pride’, also a troop or sault. Lions are the only cat family that lives in groups. Other cat species, such as tigers and leopards, live solitary lives.
