Rainbow Room Shoe Drive

HMSL is once again supporting Fort Bend Rainbow Room for a back-to-school shoe drive. The organization supports abused and neglected children in crisis. This back-to-school season, they are in need of shoes for school children ages, 5 to 18. Last year HMSL collected 50 pairs of shoes. We need your help to beat that with 75 pairs this year. The drive ends Wednesday, Aug. 2. Click here for a helpful flyer.

HMSL Sponsorship Survey

At Houston Methodist Sugar Land, serving our community is as important to us as serving our patients and guests. HMSL has strong relationships with a variety of organizations in the Fort Bend community. But we know there are many more causes that are not just important – but close to the hearts of our staff. To help us identify these opportunities, we want to hear from you. Please share your feedback via this survey by August 4.

Where Healing Happens

HMSL is excited to continue our education series “Where Healing Happens: From Down the Hall to Across the System.” Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a member of the Senior Leadership Team or what their day-to-day looks like at HMSL? On Thursday, August 10, Chris, Janet, Eliud, Sally and Dr. Desai will speak candidly about leadership and their day-to-day work. Click here for a helpful flyer with registration information.

Star Wars Contest Winner

Thank you to everyone who entered to win the Star Wars: New Hope in Concert tickets at the Houston Symphony. We had nearly 80 entries and had a tough time picking a winner, but the force was with Autumn Kirsch in Medical Staff Services who will get to attend. You can see in her photo submission here that the Star Wars fandom is a family affair! The HMSL Jedi who helped pick the winner had a few favorite submissions – both written and photos – which you can check out here.

PATIENT COMPLIMENTS

Main 6 West Patient: "The care I received was excellent. From the ladies who cleaned, to the nurses that had to put up with me, to the doctors care. Thank you for treating me with respect and care. This was my first time in the hospital. I was very scared. Everyone helped me through. Again, thank you."

Main 5 East Patient: "I have had other family members at different hospitals. None provided the service and great attitude I received at Houston Methodist Sugar Land Hospital."

Main 4 West Patient: "The nurses are heroes. They treated my husband with such compassion. He decided to go on hospice and they were so great to me and my children. He filled out this survey with my help. I made the above comment."
